Teacher Assessment of Auditory Skills (TAAS)
Developed by the Moog Center for Deaf Education
The TAAS is a comprehensive auditory skills development curriculum designed to help children who are deaf or hard of hearing reach their full potential in listening and spoken language. Based on research showing that early and consistent access to auditory information accelerates language learning, the TAAS provides educators and therapists with a structured framework to support and assess auditory skills development.
Designed for children ages 3 and up who use hearing aids, cochlear implants, or a combination of devices, the TAAS also may be appropriate for younger children with more advanced vocabulary and language skills.
